Product Description:
NRG TM units are Insulated Concrete Masonry Units, (ICMU's), which when used to construct a wall, becomes a unique modular insulated wall system. The NRG TM / ICMU is produced on conventional block making machines in standard sizes and requires no tooling or process modification at the plant. The NRG TM mold is supplied in a conventional block production "box". The insulating material is inserted between the two masonry modules in a manner similar to that used for stuffing core filled CMU's.

The NRG TM / ICMU has a vertically layered structure consisting of three modules; 1) the outside or face shell module, 2) the insulating material or insert module and 3) the inside structural module. The outside and inside modules are load bearing and are made from standard or custom concrete masonry formulas. The inner masonry module has two cavities, or cores, similar to regular CMU's. These facilitate job site handling and can be fitted with re-bar, conduit or piping. The middle module is made of insulating material, Expanded Polystyrene, or other insulating material, and provided an integral insulating layer with no thermal bridges. This insulating piece acts a s a shock & sound absorber and segregates the large masonry mass of the inner module from outside temperature changes,

this gives the NRG TM / ICMU exceptional thermal effect. Vertical reinforcing is done through the inner unit, which is inside the insulating module. There are no thermal bridges created by this reinforcing and the added insulated mass, (composed of re-bar and grout), of the inside unit increases the thermal efficiency of the wall system.

The outside module (face shell) provides the block with additional load bearing capabilities and structural integrity, while protecting the insulating middle module. This outside module can be made in a variety of conventional and custom face designs; split face, polished, ground glazed, etc. This feature makes the NRG TM / ICMU ideal for any aesthetic requirements a building may have. The resulting modular concrete masonry wall system offers great versatility and exceptional structural integrity in various applications, along with exceptional insulation value.

NRG TM / ICMU, has passed rigorous independent testing, has been manufactured successfully in production line situations, has been erected using standard "onsite" techniques for satisfied building owners and is now entering its market acceptance stage.

Installation:
The NRG TM ICMU's are complete when delivered to the job site. The inserts are installed at the block plant and therefore needs no "on site" preparation by the mason before use. The units should be laid with the hollow cores to the inside of the structure. When done in this manner a continuous vertical and horizontal barrier is formed.

Availability & Cost:
NRG TM ICMU's are produced exclusively by licensed block plants. Distribution is made through these same manufacturers and their sales outlets. Although the NRG TM ICMU costs about $1.25 more than a regular block, the NRG TM insulated wall system, costs substantially less because when the mason lays the wall, the insulation, and in many cases the finish, is complete. Remember labor is the greatest cost factor in any building project.

Warranty:
Niagara Regional Group, Ltd. Warrants the NRG TM ICMU produced by their license producers. Licensees are responsible for maintaining the high standards required by the company outlined in the license agreement. Quality control is a high priority in the agreement.

Maintenance:
As with all masonry buildings, the NRG TM ICMU provides lower maintenance costs, longer building life, fire resistance, is quieter, more secure and could mean reduced insurance and utility costs.
